Anyone else ever experience intussusception?

I was curious to see if anyone else ever had a bout of intussusception? It happened to me last summer, out of nowhere, in the middle of the night. I had these horrific stomach pains, i was vomiting bile, and i couldnt move without bending over crouching my stomach. After many tests, ultrasounds and ruling out my appendix.. i learned about intussusception. I lucked out and didnt have to have surgery to correct it, because i had a fluoroscopy done and that helped correct it on its own. But my doctors say the cause is unknown, and it can happen again. So weird, it still baffles me to this day.
Anyone else?

I had one when I was eight years old which required surgery. I barely remember it, except I couldn't go out for recess because I was doubled over at my desk inside. That is how they discovered that I had CF.

Granted this is over 30 years ago, but the explanation we got at that time was because I didn't digest fats (and didn't take any enzymes 'cause nobody knew I had CF) the undigested "stuff" built up and caused the intestine to back up into itself. Don't know if that medical view still holds today -

I had one when I was 15. I had to live with the mysterious pain for months before it was too late where they discovered it in a colonoscopy. Luckily they performed a barium enema to correct it and I also did not require surgery!

Probably one of the most painful experiences of my life.

DS did -- when he was born with meconium illeus and again when he had a bowel obstruction at age 5.

His blockage was fairly high up and was apparently caused by adhesions, narrowing from his original surgery as a baby. The Intussusception was lower.

I had one when I was 25....they removed 2ft of my intestines including the fluid regulator. I've had nothing but intestinal challenges ever since. thats a whole other subject. They didn't even know I had the issue. I was constipated and didn't have a Bm for 3 weeks!!!!! They tried oral enemas, burium enemas...etc etc...finally they admitted me. It wasn't until they actually had me open on the surgery tale that they discovered the problem....complete blockage, benign tumor and my appendix ready to burst. I have a 7" scar up my belly. They said it was absolutely necessary surgery. I don't know??? It was bad. I won't go through it again.

I had an Intussusception a couple of months ago. They found it on CT when I went in to the ER for horrible stomach pain and had passed some bloody tissue-y thing when I went to the bathroom. It corrected itself luckily. I also had a partial obstruction 2 years ago. I have to let ou know that I have never been tested or diagnosed with CF. My cousin passed away from it when she was 20. I joined this forum about a month ago maybe trying to get some answers as I have had numerous health issues over the years and from the responses I've gotten from my previous posts, I've been told that I should probably keep pushing to be tested. However, my dr's think that there's absolutely no way that I could have CF since I am 35 and "it would be obvious" (according to the Dr.s). Also, they said they are not concerned since it was a first cousin that had it, that they would be concerned if it was a sister or a parent. I go back to GI specialist again tomorrow to see what test they will be doing next to get to the bottom of this "rare" intussusception that I had. I have been told that this is very rare and that where mine occurred is even more rare because it was in the jujendum (spelling?) but that it's probably nothing to worry about because it probably won't happen again, but if it does, I need to get to the hospital right away. They have not figured out why it happened so I keep having test after test. They've ruled out Chron's. Also, I continue to have bouts of severe pain and then I pass that bloody stuff again. I have done alot of reading about it and I think that it may be possible to have it get caught and then come undone repeatedly. I'm not a Dr but I think I've probably spent more time looking into this than some of the ones I've seen! Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions about it.
