Anyone ever have C. diff?

Hey everyone,

Lately I've been having awful awful adbominal pain mixed with burning abdominal pain, and a very painful spot about as low as my waist area right below like where your jeans button? The CF doc said it could be h. pylori or c. diff. My GI is looking more into the C. diff because I just came off a four month stint of IV's.

Has anyone ever had/is anyone experiencing these types of symptoms and can point me in some kind of direction of what to think? I don't know how to soothe the pain naturally because apparently antiacids can treat and make h. pylori feel better; but antiacids aggrevate and cause harm to c. diff. My GI is fantastic so I trust what he's telling me.

I have ALWAYS had huge gastro issues until the past 4 years where I've been having months long bouts of lung infections so the "double threat" so to speak is still a little new to get used to.

Can anyone help me?

My daughter just got over C-diff. They can test your stool
for it. The only way to treat it is with an antibiotic.
Flygal (spelling). If you bring in a sample make sure you put the container on ice.

I was treated for C- Diff w/ Flagel (sp) I have had major GI issues & like you my lungs have kinda caught up w/ GI issues ..

It's great that you have a great GI dr. !! Have they taken a stool sample ? Even though my sample didnt show C- Diff my dr decided to treat me for it. Again like you i was coming off long use of ABX..

You probably know what triggers painful bouts w/ your stomach so I would steer clear of anything that does till things calm down & they decide and or find out what is going on..

In the meantime maybe a little chamomile tea or ginger ale (w/ the bubbles stirred out) to calm you tummy..

I would also ask the dr. if you can take probiotics (if you are not already) on a regular basis. I do & it has been helping ..

I wish I could be more help to you .. I know how painful it can be If you have any more questions please pm me..

Feel better joni

Thank you so much for your feedback. I just called in an order of rice and miso soup with some ginger ale to my parents who are on their way home from dinner

My GI is ordering a CT scan for tomorrow, a stool sample, and typical blood work. I will let you know what the outcome is.

Joni, missed you!! I haven't been on in a while, it was a little too emotional for me to come back. I'm going to try little by little.
