Anyone get gestational diabetes?

I found out on Friday that I failed my 1-hour test <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">. At my hospital the cut off number is 140, I got a 187. At 200 they don't even do the 3-hour, they just assume you have it. So I go for my 3-hr on Tuesday, but I'm not super hopeful.

Question- should I take any enzymes with the glucose drink? I didn't the first time (I don't normally take enzymes if I'm just drinking something unless it's very fatty like whole milk), but I wonder if that would make any difference. I put in a call to my doctor, but haven't heard anything back yet.

Sorry you have to take the 3 hr test. Taking enzymes with the drink won't help your glucose/insulin levels in your blood. The enzymes are to help break down the food in your intestines so it can be absorbed and used by your body. They don't affect insulin.

i had gd and it wasn't that bad. i wasn't on enzymes at the time so i did't even think about that, but i doubt it would have anything to do with it.

just watch your carb intake from now on. i tried to control my sugars, but ended up on glyburide (pill form of insulin)

good luck with everything. pm me if you want a copy of my blood sugars. i can give you an example of what they were. after i had morgan everything was fine and her sugar levels were great.
