Anyone get that metalic feeling?

I had the metallic taste about a month or so ago. It went away and I'm not sure why. As for the heavy lethargic, tired feeling, I've been getting that every day from about noon until 10 p.m. Don't know why. Occasionally I'll have bursts of energy, but lately they have been few and far between. I don't feel toxic or anything like that though. Not sure what that could be, but if it happens after taking your meds then it probably is being caused by them.

Have you had blood work to see if your kidneys and liver are functioning properly? That would be my thought.

Another idea that I have is that if you are taking the meds on an empty stomach that could def be the prob. I started aqauadeks not long ago and when I first took it, I hadn't eaten yet and it made me feel aweful. I was flushed, hot, and very heavy feeling.
Since then I have never taken it on a empty stomach and its never happened again. I chocked it up to the niacin in the vitamins.
I hope you figure this out soon. Keep us updated!!

Check out the symptom checker on webmd.com. You don't have to register or anything. If it doesn't point you to the problem it can help you figure out what questions to ask the docs.

your second description sounds to me like blood sugar crashes. when you ingest sugars and simple carbs, it triggers the production of insulin. old, scarred cf pancreases are slow to secrete the insulin to the bloodstream.

by the time the insulin actually hits the bloodstream, the sugars, etc have already passed, creating an excess of insulin in the blood. the result is a foggy, lethargic, heavy sensation. sometimes sweating occurs, and clear thought is impossible. VERY uncomfortable

the insulin eventually passes, too. a time likely varying for everyone, and each epsiode depending on the amount of insulin. it is on the order of tens of minutes, so 30 would easily fit right in.

to test this, during your next episode, ingest easily absorberd simple suger. a piece of candy, a glass of soda, even a spoonful of sugar. the episode should subside fairly quickly, like within a few minutes of ingestion. if that's what it is, of course.
