Anyone go to Penn, Johns Hopkins, Hershey or Hahnemann Hospital?

<br />I'm new 2008 (?) and old 54 so a late bloomer with the genes 508/117 however much is going on and go to Penn who seem do do a wonderful job with my care. The question I have is what are the differences that I can not see? One thing that did concern me was that I brought my own sputum sample beings it's been brown with some green mixed at times. They found Citrobachter and now on 3 weeks of Bactrum. So kinda had a concern that I'm not on the big list but that's OK however cultures should be done?

Wow I can't believe the responses, I haven't had anyone gown up since I was a patient at the childrens hospital.

I have really began to doubt my Dr more and more. For example my pregnancy made me very sick and it took a little over 2 years for my Dr to finally give me a piccline, when really I needed it bad as soon as I delivered, I spent the first 2 years of my daughters life feeling like crap. Once I finally got iv abx for a month I felt the best I ever have and gained 20 lbs and was exercising having exercise and enjoying life again and my daughter. Needless to say he now knows that I know what I need and when, however I do not like sharing rooms with random people or sitting in the ER for 4-8 hrs with a high fever in order to get admitted even after I tell him I'm coming in or even when he tells me to go to the er.
It's just not what I was used to prior, and I just assumed that because I was an adult the care changes and that's just how it is, but seeing these responses really is making me see that I shouldn't be settling with the inadequate care I've received the past 6 years.

I really appreciate everyones responses, I've already made up my mind I am going to see a new doctor I just need to decide which hospital. I do like my Dr and really love the nurse coordinator but I am really not satisfied and am really fed up with the care I've been receiving. I don't even know how to go about the whole process, kind of nervous.

Why don't you call up the different clinics, visit them, and then decide which you like best.

I have gone to Hahnemann for my adult care for the last eight years. I love the doctor there (Dr. Jeff Hoag). He is HANDS DOWN the easiest doctor to talk to that I've ever had and is very caring. The nurse coordinator is great also. They do always give CFers private rms. I agree with Becki. When I was tranferred from CHOP, I looked at both PENN and Hahnemann. I was not at all impressed with PENN (personally, I think some ppl get very involved with the University of PENN name.) I'd be happy to answer an questions you have about Hahnemann, if you send me a PM.

Then we often don't actually see those "doctors" again. I have no idea what they're doing with the endless questions they ask and write down.
