I have resistan B Cepacia that nothing will kill off. I have been on IV's since Jan. and end up getting high fevers and bad congestion after a week on the meds. This time I lasted two weeks, and actually got hopefull that things were turning around. My PFT's are finally good enough for them to do sinus surgery. I saw my ENT monday after getting a CT done, and he told me now he doesnt think the surgery will do any good, but would consult with my cf doc (who is all for the surgery) this week.
I call this afternoon after not hearing ANYTHING all week. The nurse said he hasnt gotten to it yet. have to call back monday.
I just started with a 103 fever this evening. here i go again.

I'm sorry that you guys have docs who never call you back.

I have several doctors that do call me back if I call them. My CF doc would always call me back, even if it was a day ot two later. When I found out that I was pregnant, he told me to abort the baby and we had a really long discussion and I got really upset. The next day he actually called me at work to apologize for what he had had to tell me the day before. I also had his cell phone number in case I couldn't reach him at the office and it was an emergency. I hardly ever used it though.

My Tx docs are pretty good at calling me back too. I would think that they would have to be. I actually have my main Tx doctors e-mail address and she normally gets back to me pretty quickly if I e-mail her.

I don't know, I guess I have just been lucky in this aspect.

Both my CF docs and TX docs always call me back. Usually its the same day, but if not then its definitely the next day. I have all of my doctor's email addresses and one of my CF drs even gave me his beeper number in case of an emergency..I've never used it. I also have a number to call the on call transplant dr for after hours and weekends incase there's an emergency.
