I always get speedy responses from our entire team, both my phone and email. Email is the fastest. If I email our doctor directly I hear back within 15 minutes. I don't know how she does it, to be honest with you!

Our team does a pretty good job contacting me back. The CF docs I can get by phone and the GI doc by email. I guess we too have been pretty lucky!

my doc returns my calls same day...always. Emergency or not.
He'll return an email same day.
When he does call back, we'll chat for up to 20-30 minutes if I need to. When I had my gallbladder removed last year, he talked to me the day I got out of the hospital for well over 30 minutes...then said he wanted to see me asap--the next day in his office. It was an off day for him, but he came in anyway. My wife and I were so impressed.
I realize that this is unusual...and my doc is at Yale University. But that aside, he treats me like a top priority. If he didn't, I don't know what I would do. I certainly wouldn't be feeling as good as I do now, that's for sure.
My doc really illustrates that a great doc goes a long way in the fight against CF. If your doc isn't living up to your standards---AND THEN SOME--- find someone else who cares enough to return a phone call....do it today!!!
