Dea!

I had the exact same bumps, too, at some points!! I didn't mention that at first, because in case Dan didn't get them, I didn't want the idea of Still's or plaquenil dismissed. For whatever reason, I only got the spots for a few months -- I had joint pain without the spots both before and after. I'm so so sorry the plaquenil didn't work for you... Did you take it twice a day? It's been a bit of a life saver for me.

And like Dea, my flare-ups are not related to how my lungs are doing at all. My best lung functions in years came with my worst pain. In fact, one of the worst things about the pain was it kept me from doing the active things that keep my lungs clear!

So frustrating - and, as you can see, no one has this quite all figured out!

Wow,
This tells me that more research on this subject definitely needs to be done. I too dont always get the bumps. I did so more as a kid. My first memories of this was when I was about 9 yrs old. Another thing is that it comes on fairly quickly, right? Isnt it strange how our immune systems work...or should I say don't work?

Oh!

That's interesting! I was a bit achy through college, but I didn't have full blown flare-ups until after college - I was about 22!

That must have been awful when you were that young! I know - it's painful!

Keep us updated though, if your rheum has any great ideas!

Yep, I have that.... I do heat and Tylenol. I have been running a fever the past few days with horrible joint aches. So not fun.

I find a hot shower or bath feel great... loosen up my chest and my sinuses at the same time. I find the older I get the worse the pain and stiffness gets. Some days I feel like a 80 year old women (although my 80 year old grandma in law can run circles around me).
