How odd I am having the same problem right now! I got a sinus infection which turned into a horrible sore throat and now I am having horrible lung problems. I woke up practically suffocating, i took three days off work, and i can't talk really. I went on Levaquin and upped my prednisone to 40mg every day for 4 days, then 20mg then my 10 every other day. I can't go on IVs until December at the earliest. Also, I have PA and cipro doesn't work me me all the time. I switch between that and Levaquin and Levaquin really worked this time.

I think you can make it without IVs with just orals. I have done it a lot and it seems ok. Rest and I hope you feel better<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Hi, I'm Ceci. Daughter To Alyssa who's on here alot and just thought i'd throw in my two cents...

When I got PA, it started in my sinuses, and moved to my throat, and into my lungs really mild. I was coughing stuff up that was Nasty, but it wasn't a load of stuff so I thought it was a mild infection that I could clear. My lungs didn't feel that bad either, but my throat felt like hell. I was having a lot of trouble with swallowing and breathing from my throat being so bad. My PFT's dropped to FEV 25-75 of 71, a drop of 20 points for me. It took a month before I finally got tested for PA, and thank the heavens it wasn't mucoid and I got on cipro and tobi and cleared it (*knock on wood*) My point is, I had the same thing happen to me, and I pay very close attention now to any prolonged sore throats and stuffy noses cause they are my flag for PA.

I hope the meds work and you feel better. Here's to hoping you don't have PA, too.
