Ok I am a 28 year old female with cf and between doctor copays and prescription co pays, car payment and insurance.... I cannot afford to move out on my own. I feel like a looser. I lived with my boyfreind for about 2 1/2 years, so when we broke up I had no other option to move back home <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Does anyone know of any programs for people with cf to help with rent? I almost could have been the one to sign my name to that post. I feel the same way... I was living with close friends and when I got sick at 29 and I couldn't afford to live on my own and I really had no place to go, so I ended up having to move back home with my dad and his wife. I hated doing that so much.. I hadn't lived with my dad since I was 12, so it was really horrible at first. Now I am so grateful and can't imagine what I would do without them. They do everything for me as far as money, food, pay my bills (most of them) and give me spending money and I am 33. I am in school and I do work part time but my pay almost all of it goes toward my insurance and I think it will be better when I graduate in May.
As far as programs, I know each state is different but I was thinking if you contacted your Center they may be able to guide you in which programs are specifically for CF. I would be interested to know as well.
