I did for a long long time and didnt relize what it was.
i was just diagnosed with RLS restless legs syndrome.
when i would go to sleep i would have extra "energy" in my legs and feel the need to move them and shake them to stop the unpleasant sensations i would have in them. i found that the symptoms would be heightened during iv usage (mainly tobramycin) which low and behold can cause kidney problems.
the kidneys are also a deficient body part in some ppl with RLS. my kidney function is normal and healthy however. i think that the IVs may have brought on this syndrome i have.
According to my doctor about 11% of the population has RLS and isnt properly diagnosed. i just started on a RX drug ropinerole (requip) it is also used to treat parkinsons. i have for the last 2 nights been able to sleep and actually dream again my sleep got so interrupted with this RLS. and with cf sleep is very important. thank god i can finally rest now and not be woken in the middle of the night with such an annoying problem i hope this helps some of you

Hi Mike...I have problems from time to time with sleep...notice the time I am typing this response LOL! But, I also have a rare type of muscular dystrophy and my muscles spasm alot, especially at night. So, I take Baclofen and Valium at times to help with that, my doses have been tweaked occassionally but it usually helps, except for tonight. I am glad you are finding some relief, I hope it continues. Hugs Cepaciagal

Hi, Mike

I think I have RLS too, but I can't be sure if I inherited it or not. ^_^ My dad has the same problem. Both of us will just be sitting there, bobbing our leg up and down on the ball of our foot without even realizing it. It doesn't keep me up, though. Usually only happens when I'm bored or anxious. Then my mom will have to yell at both of us to stop shaking the dinner table ^_^; lol.

llith i dont think what you described is really quite RLS but kybert that sounds alot more like it. i dont get it every night in fact i never used to just here and there then all of a sudden every night so i went to my doctors after mentioning the symptoms to thm quite a few times they finally realized what it might be
