Doug, I just saw your signature. I'm very sorry for your loss! Wow. I'm glad you're here.

How are you doing? How is your health?

My best FEV1 is 48 (having one lung for the past 8 years) Since then there was a point that my FEV 1 slipped down ever so slowly to 42 over an 18 month period but then I learned about Hypertonic Saline from this forum 15 months ago and when I started using that in conjuction with being faithful with my vest treatments my FEV 1 went back up to 48 within 9 months.

This might not sound like much of a drop or increase but I am grateful to have regained my lost function and will work hard with trying to maintain this level through exercise and compliance of treatments even though they are time consuming.

I too am sorry for your loss of your wife <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

wow, thats crazy fr3ak...during those 6 months did u do anything different or could you tell your body was getting sick or anything...or u just got sick...?</end quote></div>

I knew my health was declining rapidly chest infections were continuous and weight dropped, but the problem was I lived 7 hours from any form of CF centre, and then when I did see my regular CF dr they turned around and took me off the rest of my meds...

eventually I finally had my mum come with me to the GP to use reinforcement and was finally given a referral to a lung dr (yes the most annoying thing being that I knew my health was going to sh!t fast but you cannot see a specialist without a referral from your GP and none of the GP's would give me that vital piece of bloody paper!!)

By that time the damage was already done....
