Iam a 23 yearold female and Im new to this whole website. This is my first time reading things from other cystic fibrosis people. I just found out in november 2004 that I have cf-related diabetes and its real hard for me to deal with. My ex boyfriend broke up with me bc he says it's to hard for him to deal with. Now I feel alone and lost bc I could talk with him about my cf and what I was feeling.Im just wondering if anyone out there can relate and just someone that can truly understand. If so please email me at lacie23_420@yahoo.com Thanks, Lacie

I know a CF who is twice your age and has had diabetes for years and is doing well with a TX. Enjoy life and find a serious person that will be with you through the good and tought times. Another friend has diabetes (not a CF) since the age of 15, is currently in her 50 doing well after a pancrease TX.

To be frank, anyone who would leave you with diabetes and CF is not worth the effort and would certainly not be there for the potential tought times.

Lacie, I'm a 24yr old Aussie with CF and had CF related diabetes for 3 years now. I'm currently waiting to go and have my TX assesment in feb.
I met a guy who is 8 years older than me in 2003, and we are to be married in Oct this year. Keep positive and know that there is someone for everone.
My fiance is extreamly supportive of my condition and it is a god send. I have had several past relationships with guys who "find it too hard" to commit to such a lifestyle with our condition, it took a few blows to find the right one. I beleive it only made me stronger and I learnt to know what type of guy I needed to look for, to give me the suport I needed. They are out there.......it's not a matter of "if" you find the one....just "When". Good Luck. AussieCF.

Good luck Aussie CF. I have gone back to Oz since my TX and had some contacts in case of any issues in the hospital in Sydney.

My wife knew little about CF when we married in the early 1980's. Since, she became a nurse and helped with my nursing care 12 hours a day for months (many issues) post TX in the hospital. We have been through many hard times and she never complained that my CF is "too hard to deal with".
