I work from home (telecommute) two days a week and work onsite two days a week (36 hr reduced schedule), off on Fridays. I have also worked for the company 9 years and switched to this schedule in 2007 due to moving 2 hrs away from the company. So it was allowed based on personal necessity. I work in research/development for a healthcare company in their diagnostic division. Most of my work from home is computer work through our company server and relates to documenting all of my lab studies. I majored in clinical laboratory science as an undergraduate.
Healthwise, it is a nice schedule b/c I can easily fit in neb and vest treatments. Also, I do neb treatments while driving the 2-hr commute. Socially, it gets very boring and also has kind of removed me from many other job opportunities w/in the company. So I don't have any great aspirations w/in the company anymore for a career.
Personally, my health is very stable and good right now so it is too bad that I need to start looking for another job for better job satisfaction/career opportunities. Not the best time to look for a new job. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
