I have read an article that said carriers are at higher rise for severe sinusitis, etc. but most of the other literature says carriers don't have any symptoms...who knows.

Also...never heard of "severest form of cf"...that's weird.

My roommate's friend's sister had a miscarriage and found out her and her hubby were both carriers. Their doctor discouraged them from having kids, unless they wanted to do invitro to make sure the kids would not have CF.

Shawn is also considered to be, at the very least, a symptomatic carrier. We don't know yet if he has cf or not. Emily was very accommodating with her sweat test results (over 100!) and extremely symptomatic condition; Shawn was not: sweat test of 48 and 54, more 'vague' conditions (sinus disease, primarily, some slowed growth) that either makes him a 'mildly symptomatic' kid with cf or a symptomatic carrier. Obviously I'd really prefer the latter!

I understand, Harriet! Jordan had 3 positive sweat tests - all over 100. My older son, Bronson was sweat tested then too. His results were (and I quote the pulmo) "high-borderline". I was told he was a carrier. LATER, after finding this site, and learning so much, I wish I had pushed for further testing on him. He also has a LOT of symptoms! My youngest son was not tested at the time, because he has a diff. father.

This site has taught me that CF is NOT a simple disease. There are so many shades of gray! I know there is still much to be learned.
