"yes they have CF, but they have MILD cases. it was my way of protecting myself from the horror i felt. ;</end quote></div>

it's a very effective protention mechanism. I see is on this site all the time with parents of CFers.

and it's fine when you just use it to proect yourself. in fact, it's harmless as long as it doesn't affect your compliance with your child's medications.

but i've heard of parents with young ones say "well he's healthy right now so we don't need to do xyz treatment.

what horrifies me is when people use this to decide to have more children. i dont' care what the facts are ! i want what i want no matter how it affects others!

i am grateful for your honesty because i know so many on this board are thinking for the same thing.

Lisa,
I never read the post, either (I have to agree with Diane about "been there, done that"), but I don't think you ever have to apologize for the way you feel. Just as you explained, we are all affected by CF, but our individual life stories are so different. We all have a different history. We've all encountered people throughout our lives (some thoughtful and sensitive, some not so much) who have molded our attitudes and beliefs towards this illness.

I actually regret that the post is now locked and I can't read anyones' thoughts. I don't agree with locking the posts. I think people should be free to express themselves without reprocussions, but that's an issue for another time.

p.s. so glad Kari is hanging in there!
