"Frankly, my dear...I don't give a damn!"

Couldn't resist being the first to razz ya!!

Pretzels and ice tea...hmm...I'll have to consider that when I have no coke or Mountain Dew available!! Still got 12 lbs + worth of pretzels!!

Pretzels are about equivalent to bread, with a little extra salt, so with some sugar in your tea (honey as an option, dear?), that ought ta get you started!!

Don't have CF, but when I was pregnant I ate a lot of yogurt, yogurt drinks (kefir). Would eat dry cereal -- quaker oat squares, kashia makes one with apples/cinnamon for a snack during the morning at work -- had fiber and was filling. Had my core things that I knew I could eat, tended to eat. Even if it meant the same thing over and over.

I had a DREADFUL experience early on in my pregnancy when I tried a new recipe for crock pot mac & cheese -- and I couldn't face anything similar -- casseroles with white or cheesy sauce forever. It's been 4 years and I still get kinda gaggy thinking about it. Bleah!

As for DS, who really could care less about food... He always gets vanilla carnation instant breakfast made with whole milk & cream with his meals. Or if he just wants a glass of cold milk, I throw in a splash of cream. Ounce of cream adds LOTS of calories. I'll give him a snack of sunflower nuts or peanuts or fresh fruit and veggies, sometimes popcorn. We keep juice on hand -- LOTS of extra calories. Usually it's white grape or orange. Basically for bedtime snacks, I'm all about the mindless snacking in front of the TV -- you know glazed eyes, hand dipping into the bowls until it's empty

I don't have CF but when I was pregnant I had terrible heartburn. Everything I ate made me have such awful heartburn that I would lose my appetite. The only thing that helped were the Mcdonalds thick vanilla shake, yum! It would take the burn out of my throat and they have alot of calories.

What about something like a croissant? They are filled with calories plus fluffy and light. Nutella (hazelnut) spread is something my daughter with CF eats by the spoonful, again full of calories and can be spread on a bagel, dipped with fruit.

I was the same way when I was pregnant. My docs said it was the baby pushing on the stomach and therefore making it kind of like shrunk. I just try to eat several small things a day. Somedays days I would just snack all day. I would try and balance out what I ate not all junk food but fruits an veggies too. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I forgot about the midnight cereal runs (to the kitchen, that is ). And I pretty much lived off of McDonalds little regular hamburgers when I was away from the house- I would have thought they would have turned my appetite off, but I craved them. Also, taking a bite of something I really liked (even though I had a "no, no food, ugh" feeling) worked quite often. If it didn't work, I'd move on to something else, take a bite, etc. until I found something that made my tummy say "Mmm, we can try that..." .

Hi, I have cf & I am short. The baby pushed on everything. Here is what I did. Ate anything all day, non stop. Like everyone else, dinner and lunch were whatever. Hubby was on his own.

to get and keep weight I drank skandi shake I mixed 6 packets with 4 cups of milk, it gave a few more calories per milk cup.
I had one before bed. then,
I took a cup of that up to bed with me. I put it in a cooler with ice. when my husband got up at 5am for work, I drank it. then breakfast when I woke up again. It was like having 2 breakfast a day. gave me the final weight I needed. I gained only 15lbs and she was over 5lbs & 17 inches long.
BTW my "healthy" sister gave birth a few months before me. She gained 16lbs and her baby was only one ounce less than mine and one inch longer. Her doc did not have a fit because she did not gain a lot of weight. Good Luck
