Exactly the reason why I didnt want to do the dang tune up in the first place. It is the crap you cant see that scares me. If we go home with more than we came with, I am talking to a lawyer.

I posted a sign on Jae's door that says WASH HAND UPON ENTRY NO EXCEPTIONS. Mostly they wear gloves in but have those gloved hands been in the room next door to us?? I spray her room down every day with Odoban but that still doesnt help ever friggin person that comes in her and pokes and prods her. Jeez, anxiety setting in!!!!

I want to get the hell outta here asap after reading that article. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

Almost seems crazy to say, But a hospital is the worst place to be when you are sick.
Since getting cepacia i have been in the hospital a few times for iv's and also for embolizations , and after seeing what goes on in there, its no wonder i got cepacia the first time i went in 10 years ago, for a simple sinus surgery. Their idea of cleaning a toilet is to pour in some stuff and flush the toilet. No wiping down the seat, none of that. I remember one day they moved me into a different room because they needed the room they had me in for two patients instead of me having it all to myself and a single room had just become available.. It took 3 or 4 hours till they got me in there. They said that housekeeping was cleaning the room. When i got in there, there was dried blood on the ceiling, and sputum on the wall, the bedrails were dirty, and the floor in the bathroom hadnt been touched in weeks. SO WHAT TOOK 3 - 4 HOURS TO DO THEN ?????? I pointed this out to my nutritionist when she came to see me and she couldnt believe it. I always ask for a box of alcohol wipes if i have to be admitted and i wipe everything in the room with it, even if it is something i might not touch. You just cant be too careful and you sure cant trust the housekeeping staff to properly clean and sterilize anything. Years ago when a patient left they had to wipe down the whole bed with disinfectant before making it . My mom was a nurse for 24 years and i remember everything they had to do between patients. Now a days they just take the sheets off and put new ones on. No wiping down the mattress, or bedrails, or anything for that matter. No wonder there are so many bad infections running rampant in a hospital.

I forgot to add , i do all of my iv's at home. I only go in the hospital if i have no choice, like a bad hemoptysis. The hospital is not the place to be when my resistance is down and i am in need of iv's. I came home with cepacia when i was well and in great health, i can only imagine what i could come home with when i am not.
