At a lost with daughters symptoms

I am just not sure what is going on with my younger daughter, Hannah. We just returned from taking the girls on Springbreak to Tulum, MX. Friday morning Hannah woke up stating that she was feeling sort of sick. But after breakfast she seemed fine. She did good all morning, then after lunch she became tired and crabby and kept saying that her tummy hurt. Bye 3 pm she starting throwing up. She threw up a few times that night, then again on Saturday morning. But she really isn't any better. She stopped getting sick, but still crying that her tummy hurts and is sleeping a lot more than normal. No fever. No rashes. No increase in cough.

I will be calling clinic in the morning if she isn't better. Clinic was closed when we got home tonight. She weighed herself, and she dropped from 52 to 48 pounds since last weekend...she has not had more than three or four french fries since Friday at noon! I have gotten a little bit of Gatorade in her, and that is it.

Like I said, I will be calling her doctor in the morning, but I was just curious if anyone has any suggestions. I am at a loss as to what can be going on. I feel terrible that she is hurting and that it has gone on for so long. She seems to do good for a while, then she starts crying again. The only constant thing that there has been is that she refuses to eat and everytime we come around food, she says she is going to throw up. Could her sleeping so much be that she is just too weak from not eating for the past four days?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks Heather. Right now I am just feeling like a terrible mom! Especially after I saw how much weight she lost in such a short amount of time I thought about calling from Mexico, but everytime I thought she was on her way to feeling better, she ended up feeling bad again...ugghhh!

Well, I guess I am going to go get in bed and cuddle with my little 'lovebug'. All she wants us to do is rub her tummy, so needless to say, my husband and I didn't get much sleep the last few nights! She would get frustrated with one of us when we couldn't keep our eyes open to keep rubbing her tummy and she would kick us out of the bed and ask for the other parent! Maybe she is just trying to get us trained

I hope she is feeling better. My son gets partial blockages and has stomach pains, etc. they are not uncommon with CF.

Hi Tammy,

I would bring her in to make sure it's not a blockage or if she's full of stool. Is she pooping, passing gas? I have found my daughter can get constipated with a change in routine, change in the types of food she eating, etc. She may be so tired, one she's could be dehydrated, and or have a blockage which would make you feel blechy. I hope you find out what's going on and I hope she feels better soon.
