Augmentin

Everyone says Augmentin is hard on the stomach.  It's not really hard on my stomach per se, but more on my digestive tract.  Even with 3 doses of Culturelle daily, it still seems to wipe any effects of enzymes (which I don't normally take much of, but definitely take more of when I'm on Augmentin).  Anyone else have this problem? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> It sucks.  I'm allergic to so many meds that I'm stuck with Augmentin or a hospitalization.<br><br>S.<br>

That is only 30 billion units of probiotics, which for an adult is not all that much. My boys take about 20 billion units on a daily basis. I would look into getting a larger dose probiotic.

My daughter is currently on Augmentin and she is 11. Her GI recommended asking the pharmacist for the probiotic they keep behind the counter in a frig. We go to CVS and sure enough the pharmacist knew what I was talking about. It has much more in it then the Culturelle we usually use. I am out of town without kids, so I can't get the name of the one we got, but over the years in different states this has always worked for us.
