You're welcome! I think you will be happy with it. It's so easy for me to use this; it sits on the counter and you only need to add water to it once every 24hrs- it will turn itself on automatically every 6hrs and you can switch it on 'as needed' during that time as well. It is especially coming in handy right now with Emily being sick and going through extra nebs like crazy! I throw the sinus rinse bottle parts in there too.</end quote>

I SAW that somewhere that you throw the sinus bottles in there too....AWESOME!! idea....I hate NOT sterilizing those bottles. To me, there is NO point in doing any of this stuff if we are not diligent about sterilizing. Thanks for the tip. I am looking forward to having my stove back for its intended purpose AND having a ready sterilized neb for myself. This will actually cut so much time out of my therapy time cuz I spend really about 20 minutes boiling by the time the water actually comes to a rolling boil. Doing that 3x/day was becoming more of a drag than the actual therapy itself I am SUPER excited....I know that is nerdy; but, hey time is TIME

I bought this for our first out of state trip. To use in the hotel room........Used it once, and it's still sitting in the box. I was sooooo afraid of it not doing the job. So, I have stuck to boiling nebs. But, I only do it once a week since we have a set of eight........Curious to see how many others use this. It was like a hundred dollars....Might be worth bringing it out!

Thanks,

Sarah

Well....the CF Services Pharmacy is giving a NUK bottle sterilizer out to new Cayston users. I read somewhere that it gets up to 211 degrees...enough to kill bacteria. I don't know. Boiling the e-flow is not working for me. It is just too hard on the thing to be doing it 3x/day. I might also use a respiratory cleaner 1x/week. Something just had to give for me. I was finding it easy to boil a couple of times per day with regular nebs; but, with the e-flow it is different. The e-flow is a LOT more expensive so I don't want the wear of a 3x per day boil. I can't rotate it with 6 other equal nebs cuz you get just one or 2 at a time. The head is very delicate too; but, still needs to be sterilized. I can't just throw it in a stainless steel pan.

Why didn't I just go with CF services pharmacy and get a free sterilizer? I just like Foundation Care that much that I wanted to stick with them. I get other free stuff from them so I figure it all works out.

According to product information, the Avent IQ does reach- and sustain- a temp of 212* w/ steam, which I feel good about as a means of sterilizing.
Emily uses a spacer and nebs daily (as well as a sinus rinse bottle when sick) so it's really convenient for us!
