Hi guys -

Received this email from the CFF today (as I'm sure many of you did). I'm sure a lot of you would like to send a letter. I'm going to send it off to my friends and family to write on my behalf as well....

Kris

Dear Advocate,

Have you or someone you know had a personal experience using Aztreonam Lysine for Inhalation (AZLI)?

AZLI is a promising new inhaled antibiotic treatment that appears to help combat the pulmonary symptoms of cystic fibrosis. By sharing your experience using AZLI, you can help the Foundation as it works with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to move this new therapy forward.

To help, simply:

</a>Write about what AZLI has done for you
E-mail your letter to publicpolicy@cff.org by November 28, 2008.

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, I was not in the research group and cannot yet get this.

I did ask at my clinic today about the "red tape" and was told that its likely it was because of lobbyists that got to the FDA. Also, at some point, it was said that CF has "enough inhaled antibiotics" for treatment. What a stupid statement to make. So, sounds like it won't be out for a long time until they finally do determine that it will help us and isn't just "another" inhaled antibiotic.
