B.Cepacia???

The CF clinic I go to can do everything on computer. I can check my
labs, x-rays and such just by getting on the internet. Well I was
reading old entries and I found this:

What does this mean? Do I have B. Cepacia???

You can't get rid of it. And I don't know for sure, I was just guessing on the not isolated thing.

Isn't Cepecia resistant to all antibiotics? If you go on antibiotics when sick then you know you don't have it I think. I was pretty sure from reading other's posts that they have to usually go on IVs if sick.

just FYI, in the original post that contains hyperlinks, you are making yourself vulnerable to someone hacking into your medical record. Someone with malicious intent or a webcrawler could possibly cause big problems for you with that. In the future you may not want to copy/paste directly from your medical office's website.

Anon at 7:26, you are incorrect. I'm not sure whic posts you are referring to. Yes, cepacia is multiresistant, but there are combinations of antibiotics that can keep it at bay depending on which species is cultured. I have b. cepacia and am currently on 5 antibiotics (2 oral, 1 inhaled, 2 IV) and I'm doing pretty well.

I have no idea after reading what you posted if it means you have b.cepacia or not, but you should definitely call your doctor and ask if you suspect that you do. B.cepacia is virtually impossible to get rid of, but it isnt TOTALLY impossible since ive heard of a very FEW people that have gotten rid of it.

ISOLATE 1: MODERATE GROWTH PROBABLE STAPH COAGULASE POSITIVE IDENT + SENSITIVTIES TO FOLLOW

This means that the bacterium isolated is most likely staphylococcus aureus and the indentification test and sensitivies are to follow (there is a test to determine it the bacteria is coagulase positive) Staph is a coagulase positive bacterium.

ISOLATE 2: BURKHOLDERIA CEPACIA NOT ISOLATED NEGATIVE FOR STREP GROUP A.

According to this information the no B Cepacia was found in the plate.

ISOLATE 3: PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA NOT ISOLATED

Same as above. No PA isolated

ISOLATE 4: HEAVY GROWTH OF UPPER RESPIRATORY BACTERIA.

This is the normal flora found in the upper respiratory tract.

something theyd tell me I had but you never knwo with doctors

I would still put a call into you doctor to be 100% sure. Just ask them to explain the results because you want to be completely clear.
