We found out that our baby girl has CF when she was four weeks old. She's now two months and we know her mutation is DF508 and 1717G>A. I know no two cases are the same, but I was just wondering if anyone else had this specific combonation and how you are fairing.

I'm not sure about the mutation combination; however I do want to welcome you to the site.

There is a great group of people here and I hope you are able to find a place for friendship & support as many of us had.

Welcome to the site! I know it is a hard time right now....the first couple of years were really tough on us. We have adjusted to all the treatments, meds, etc...but it is still hard.
Our daughter has the same mutations as yours. I can tell you the classifications. There are 5 classes of genes...1 being the most severe to 5 being asymptomatic. 1717-1GA is a class 1, DF508 is a class 2. Remember that no 2 CF cases are exactly alike. We have 41 year old's and 7 year olds' with the same mutations on the site....with totally different cases.
Hang in there...you have found the source that will help you more than anywhere else!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thank you both so much for responding. We're just trying to take everything day by day and not get ahead of ourselves, but it's nice to know we aren't alone.

How is Zoe doing?
