Hi,

I found this post by doing a search of the mutation 1717-1G-Aa, which is what I have in combination with delta F508. I thought you might be interested to know that I had extraordinarily good health right up until I was 18 years old, which is when I got my first iv treatment!

Since then I've had one rough patch, which was slightly self-inflicted, but I'm thankfully back on track and truly enjoying great health.

What I'd like to emphasise most to you is not to dwell too much on the CF genotype. There are many, many co-factors (environment, other active genes, etc.) that will determine anyone's progress. All you can do is take the best care of your daughter, who, by the way, is absolutely beautiful!!!

God bless!

That is great to hear justdance! I also found these posts doing a search for my 2 month old son's gene mutations which are F508del and 1717-1G->A. It's nice to know there are others on the forum with same mutations, but you're right to try not to get super caught up in what the actual mutations are. Stick to the daily routine of enzymes, meds, cpt, and take it day by day. I hope you all are doing well!
