yeah i've heard that. i know my lo is purposely coughing when i try to give her her medicine for thrush. she does the fake cough and then looks at me with that 'did i get her?!??' look.
and since birth practically, when i have a coughing fit while nursing, she'll pull off, stare at me till its over, and then resume eating.

Logan never mimicked coughing. But these past few days he had been really sick with a bad cold and was coughing his poor little head off (it was junky too... just like CF). He's better now but still has a cough. Anyway, I gave him some medicine and I told him it would make his cough and nose better (it was benedryl). I also told him that it is ok to cough (he'd start crying every time he was coughing) and that mommy coughs too. Well the next day my mom was over and he told her "Mommy coughs a lot too and she needs her medicine". It was too cute.

I honestly think he's never noticed my coughing. Its just so normal to him. Coughing never woke him up - ever. No matter how loud or how hard I coughed.

Yeah, our coughing is just normal to them...they don't know anything different. My son does the "did I get her?" look too and he fake coughs to get my attention. It's funny the things they learn at such a young age!
