Baby Update

Julie,

You are doing awesome!!! If each baby is over 3 pounds that is wonderful. You must be so uncomfortable right now...my sister's friend just had triplets. She was in the hospital on bed rest for the last 10 weeks! and breathing was uncomfortable. Hang in there...eat lots of high calorie snacks( for petes sake get your buff husband to make them for you..he knows what he is doing!) and RELAX! They are at a healthy weight...If one baby grows but lost an ounze that is OK..the baby just grew longer but did not take in any weight..that happens with kids all the time. They are the same weight but grew an inch...see what I mean? You are doing amazingly well for carrying multiples. When you eat make the best of it--high calorie nutrient packed foods. Yu really need calcium right now..the babies will drain your body of what they need so the calcium is for you! Treat your bones to dairy produtc and supplements if you are not getting the recomended amount daily.

Take Care

Thanks Rootbeer, lately I've been so turned off to food, I just don't have the room. I'm doing a lot of protein shakes (the ones you just mix with a bit of water so I can take it down in a few gulps, one small scoop is 24g of protein!!!!!!). And my new staple has become mashed potatoes and baked potatoes, preferably the mashers though! Mark's made a few runs to KFC because he doesn't make mashed potatoes. They know him now as the husband to the lady with triplets and sometimes they throw in an extra bowl for free-so kind of them!!!!!

I did attempt to make some last week, but fell asleep on the couch and boiled all the water out (probably nearly started a fire too, LOL!) so I've given up on cooking until the babies come. I just don't have the stamina to stay awake while it cooks. I know, I'm a basket case.

I a round about way, I understand what you are saying about the growing but not necessairly gaining. Makes sense to me after I read it a few times, <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">.

Yes, I am taking calcium, 3x the normal recommended supplement (4 pills in the am, 4 in the pm.... can't remember the mg's right now though), I'm also taking iron, and extra folic acid. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks again for the well wishes from everyone, I'll keep you posted as the big day gets closer!!!
