How are the girls vit D levels?? After a long winter, with little sun, and malabsorption, just make sure vit D levels are good. I've heard vit D is involved in the immune system. Which came first, the chicken or the egg if you know what I mean.

Totally feel your frustration! Aidan has been on Bactrim for months but it hardly does anything anymore for his horrible MRSA filled sinuses. He went on Clindamycin (MRSA drug we hand't tried) before sinus surgery. Sinus surgery was a mess. Then went on Zyvox for weeks. Sinuses were bad again a few weeks later. Now he is on Rifampin and 2 weeks of IV Vanco. I have no idea how we are going to keep his sinuses clear anymore with oral antibiotics- they just don't seem to ever fully kill the infection. But we can't have him live in constant pain and discomfort either. His sinuses are just SO bad despite all the sinus rinses etc...Ughhh, I hope Maggie feels better!

LouLou, you make a good point about Vit D. I've heard & read as well about it's involvement in the immune system. Emily just had her yearly labs done; I am curious to know what all her levels are. Her D was low last year and we've been supplementing with extra this past year. It would be nice if she was spared another of those awful infections. (she's also had benefit of going into the winter on more effective medication she wasn't put on until she got so sick last winter/spring. She's been pretty healthy when it comes to resp. stuff since recovering from h1n1 in Nov, actually- a very long streak for her.)
