My sputum culture shows that Bactrim is effective against my MRSA.
Have any of you had sucess treating your MRSA w/ Bactrim & were there any real bad side effects that you noticed (other than the stool issue I saw on another post)
Also, did it take long for you to become resistant to it?

I love Bactrim. I take Bactrim DS and it works so well for me. I never have any side effects and I feel so good while I am on it.

I am not sure why but out of all the drugs I take Bactrim does the most for me.

I was taking Bactrim with Cipro for awhile. While they were working well, they made me not want to eat very much. I think it was the combo of them both together though. Now I'm on zithro.

My daughter's sputum results just came back and she cultured abundant MRSA and our doctor gave her bactrim also. It's only been a few days so we will see.

Thank you for the responses. I always like to check w/ others on side effects before starting something new<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'm pretty sure that Colleen was put on Bactrim years ago and it made her vomit horribly.

Just spoke to Colleen and she says it was Biaxin that made her vomit horribly. She's correct, as usual! <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">
