BAD BREATH

It makes sense with lung problems..i mean there is a lot of funky stuff growing down there, and you can't help but wonder what kinda odours it makes <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

Try a toothpaste with antibacterial properties...like colgate total. That kept my breath super fresh. That pretty much fixed it for me. My um...friend that's a girl always says my breath is bad in the morning...when everything is stagnant and just sits there. Kinda gross...ya...but what can you do

My tongue is also often white. I've had thrush before, and that's not currently what it is. I'd know if it was. It's just plaque. All the nebulized meds and stuff tend to make my mouth fuzzy, so I just make sure to brush my tongue. It doesn't keep it clear ALL THE TIME, but it helps.

And most certainly, I also have bad breath. Nothing much I can do about it except brush my teeth when I can and chew gum when I'm out. *shrug*

My daughter gets white on her tongue when she is sick and she always seems to get worse breath when she is having a flare up. Tooth brushing helps but it soon comes back, so she just buys heaps of sugar free gum.
I do notice that when she is starting to get a flare up and i go in her room to wake her up her room has a sour smell. This isn't all the time, just when her lungs are flaring up.

Hubby says I dont usually have bad breath, but it has a certain "odor". Whatever that means....I am a fanatic about cleaning my tongue & gargling to get the junk that might be in the back of my throat. My poor daughter gets it really bad & she doesnt have CF, but I know when her allergies are kicking in from it.

Our whole family has bad breath due to sinus trouble, post nasal drip and allergies. I can always tell with myself or my boys when the sinuses are getting infected because our breath gets very dry smelling (like we've been sleeping for days). Pretty gross. Flonase or nasonex helps- also lots of saline spray.

YUCK

I got back from Wal Mart and bought me a tongue cleaner, so hopefully it will make my tongue look better and help control my bad breath.

chronic sinus infections, postnasal drip, diabetes, chronic acid reflux

being a CFer i have those 4, but i never knew thats what caused it...so thanks! (i always thought it was just the meds)

what i've always done is... lots of mouth wash and a tongue scraper thingy....helps alot. and use the tounge thing alot. but it also sounds like you have thrush, definitly deal with that first... hope it gets better... '
