Does anyone have any recommendations/tips for making meals to suit all needs? I want to make sure my daughter (17 mos) gets all the nutrients/fat/colories she needs, but I don't necessarily want the rest of my family eating all her high calorie meals. DO you make separate meals for your kids with cf, or do you just try to fatten up what you make for evertone else? I found a bunch of really great reciped geared for CF kids, but with over 20g of fat per serving, not so good for everyone else. I've been thinking about making a few meals for her than just freezing the rest, but that will still really limit what she can have (our freezer isn't that big) ANyway, just wanted to see if anyone has come up with any good tricks.

Thanks!

my little guy is only 2 months, so we are not there yet but I too have been thinking about this for the future. I would assume that you could do things like cassorals and baked dishes just put extra into a section for your little one. just from me trying to eat healthy I have had to eliminate things in my section of food. plus you could do alot of the same dish but a add in a little baking dish for your lo. they have those baking pans for toaster ovans that would be great for this. Also think about adding alot into snack times instead or those shakes that I have seen others on here giving there lo's.

I'm only 14 but I happened to find this post...and we have the same problem in my house. My dad needs to lose weight and I need to gain weight! What we do is my mom always makes me seperate scandishakes with meals, and puts the weight-gaining powder and olive oil only on my plate. We all eat the same meals. I just get extra high-calorie snacks throughout the day. I don't know if that helped at all...just thought I'd share my story

We do some customizing. Like when we make homemade pizza, each section gets different toppings and each person gets a different amount set aside for them. My son with CF tends to get the lion's share. Or when we make cornish hen, we make different side dishes for different people. But I don't focus on getting more calories or more fat per se. I focus instead on getting the right foods into us (I and my oldest both have a form of CF). As we have gotten healthier, we gradually have found that we need less food to keep a good weight. My son wcf is beefier than he has ever been.

There are a few recipes on my website if you are interested:Recipes
