Hi Jennifer,
Welcome to the forums!! I am sure you will find alot of info here. When I first came here I spent hours reading through old posts too. I have learned alot in the 8 months or so of coming here.
My husband and I are starting our journey to conceive also. He has an appt on Thurs to get a carrier screening done. To me it is so important for him to get the testing so we can rest asure that our baby will not be affected by this disease. If he is a carrier will will not go through with conceiving our own child. We may consider adoption instead but not sure. I hope you find what you are looking for here and hope to see you come back often. Good luck and keep us posted about your success!!!!!

Welcome!
You've definitely found a great place. If you have any questions about pregnancy feel free to ask me. I'm 38 weeks right now so the experience is still fresh in my mind. Ask anything you want - I'm very open. Do you experience hemoptysis? This is a complication that I deal with that most of the other currently pregnant or recently delivered did not deal with.

Make sure to get Ambry testing for your spouse. We tested my DH in 2004 for 89 mutations. We thought that was pretty comprehensive which it is but now it only accounts for something like 95% of the mutations. Our baby ***SURPRISINGLY*** still has a 1 in 500 chance of having cf. He will be Ambry tested after birth as will my husband should we decide to have any additional children.

I used hypertonic saline during pregnancy as well as a whole slew of other drugs. My FEV1 is 67%. I'll dig up the old post about what drugs we are on during pregnancy. I think there's others that need to update anyways.

You know, I coughed up blood when I was about 17. It really scared me. Fortunately, I have not struggled with that since. My brother who is now 32 w/ cf, however, coughed up huge amounts of blood all the time when he was between the ages of 11 and 17. I don't believe he has in severl years though.

How are you doing with that now? That is not a fun experience, but hang in there! So exciting to hear you are due for your baby soon!!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Take care,
Jennifer
