Maybe I'm more of a pesimist myself, but it sounds way to good to be true. It is interesting, it sounds promising, but I've heard such news for a long time now and nothing came out of them.
So I am not that excited anymore and I want to see the actual stuff being available and at a reasonable price.
Otherwise is just another carrot dangled in our faces....

I, for one, am amazed and optomistic. There is so much work on this gene therapy--it is unlike the earlier version when everyone thought there would be a cure. This is so different, developing a virus that will attack the mutation...I am so proud of our University! It has always been "cutting edge", and is world-reknown, and is the adult CF center that Kaylee will be going to eventually.

I am sitting here with tears in my eyes! Thanks for bringing this to our attention...The future holds so much promise and hope--I think REAL HOPE...(And yes I know, we will all truly believe it when we see it--but it is coming closer!)

Vlad, I know what you mean about sounding too good to be true. For me, my excitement is that it's progress. Another step closer. Maybe this will be it, maybe, this is the answer, maybe not, but just the news that someone, somewhere is still working and has found something that seems to work... at least in the lab, is remarkable. Like you though, I am not pinning all my hopes because even if it is the cure, it's a few years off from being made available after they do all the tests and trials. But it is HOPE and that's all we've got.
