You handled that wonderfully, and I would have done the same thing. CF means that you have to be more careful, and I am definitely more cautious of dirty water now that I have a daughter with CF. All kinds of unknown bacteria grows in stagnant water! Yikes!

Ugh, that is so nasty! Even without CF, why in the WORLD would a parent encourage children to go near any type of water source to look for treasure? This is an age where most kids are learning to swim or can't swim -- you don't want them thinking they could just wander into a creek, swamp, swimming/wading pool.
