BLEH! (isolation)

In the hospital in isolation. I understand why they do it, but on the other hand, i dont. The nurses will still bring in the germs that other people have coughed on them, still exposing us to danger. and they dress in those fugly (i know i said fugly. combo of 2 words) yellow things. they cant really be called gowns or anything really. They apparently like making us feel like subhumans, trapped in a cage, only allowed to see people with yellow things on. After 4 days I am so sick of being in one small room! like i said, the germs are getting in no matter what, so why not just let us out? Though, it would have to be on a schedule with other cfers in the hospital so we arent out at the same time. anyway, yea, just leave posts. I'll tell you what i think.

haha i know EXACTLY what you mean. i am currently in the hospital and the first five days i was here i was down on an isolation wing so no one was allowed out of their room. i was going crazy! i was so happy to be moved up to the regular CF floor so i could get out and walk. my primary dr that comes in and sees me wheres those yellow gowns and she never has it on right and its always falling off. i know she does that with other patients so like you said the germs are still getting in.

Least you don't have to share a room... when we stayed in the hospital she would get cold because the cheapazz med grade blankets suck, so i would give her my blanket and use the gowns to cover up. they're actually pretty warm because they're plasti or something and trap heat in. random thoughts, i know... but just wanted you to know that i was reading your thoughts.

I know how you feel. But at the same time they are just trying to prtect you. Germs may still get in but they are reducing the risk of exposing you. And it's not like they are hugging you and hanging all over you the germs won't really get on you personally. I hate having to wear one of those gowns when I leave my room and by the end f my 2 weeks stays I don't even tell people to wear them anymore. I get sick of seeing nuttin but yellow! The nurses and Drs still do but family and friends I let slide

Don't be too bored in there! Start thinking of fun ways to make the gowns in to fashionable outfits, that could kill some time!
