We have the same problem with Briceton, blood in his boogers. We do NOT use the aspirator and his pediatrician has not noticed any signs of irritation in his nose. Clinic has never seemed to concerned, saying that he is to young for sinus issues yet. But the pediatrician sees differently and has referred us to an ENT(what can it hurt) We have our first appointment in November!

DS came home from the NICU with a cough and stuffy, boogery nose. In fact his first year of life he had two sinus infections. Local doctors didn't think it was an issue, but his CF doctor put him on augmentin for 20 days to knock out the infection. Didn't we KNOW it could've gotten into his lungs and caused an infection? Sigh.

Anyway, it was the rts at the children's hospital who showed me how to use the saline and aspirator. Poor little guy couldn't eat 'cuz he couldn't breath.
