Hi haley,
Was it a dexa scan to measure bone density? When I was 15 they noticed my spine was starting to curve on a chest xray. They dismissed it as minor but, low and behold, it got worse and I had a spinal fusion aged 21. Great now- all fixed!
Before my operation I was diagnosed with osteopenia. They put me on Actonel, which is a pill to aid bone resorption and usually given to elderly women and you take once per week. Last year I had a bone density score of -2.1, which is broaching on osteoperosis. I was switched to fosavance and the importance of compliance was driven into my brian. After a year of being (almost) 100% compliant and getting really serious about weights exercise, I have raised my density score to around -1.1, which I was soooo happy with!
My point is calcium and vitamin D may not be enough so be sure to ask about this! You kinda need your bones to carry you through life <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
