Im starting to like boys now and i asked my friend if he would ever want to be more than friends. he said he would rather just be friends. hes really nice to me and everthing. I want to know if its because i have cf. but i dont want to ask him. is he worth it?

It could be because you have CF or it could be because he's a boy & boys can be like that. Sometimes when people like you the most they hurt, pick on or ignore you the most. Maybe he likes you, but cant deal with the CF or maybe he just doesnt like you in that way. Its up to you as to whether you want to ask. If you decide to, dont be upset about his answer & realize that he might not want to answer truthfully. At this age its hard to let your true feelings be told. One thing I know is that this is just the beginning of what to expect with boys/men.

A lot of it could also be his age, maturity level, or he feels awkward that a buddy now wants to be something more. Maybe he hadn't thought about it yet and you caught him off guard without knowing how to respond he took the safe route and said no. Who knows. Just don't let the first boy you're interested in bring you down. There are so many others out there! You'll know when the time is right to talk to him further about the CF.

I forgot to tell u guys that I am deaf too.but I lost my hearing from a medicine I was on. so he still knew me when I could hear. but now Im deaf. I really think that has something to do with it too.

Are you fully Deaf? To where you use ASL? Because the only thing I could think that would possibly throw him off with you being Deaf would be that he might have to learn a new language. But if that's true, and that threw him off, then he's a lazy shmuck, and you don't need him.

I am fully deaf. I tried learning sign language but I got to frustrated with it and everything else I have to do so they said I could hold off on it for a while. In the mean time I am starting to read lips very well. If I cant do that then I have the person write it down. And well he is lazy and doesnt like to write down what hes saying so he tells me never mind.

ASL is fun, you should give it another try when you can handle the extra stress. But if he's too lazy to write down some words to talk to you, then like I said, he's not worth it. I know I'm not you, so I'm hardly one to talk, but blah on him. In a relationship, even if you're the one with the "weird" language, you shouldn't have to do ALL the communicating by yourself.

I'm 24 w/cf and I started dating when i was in high school and some of the boys did not understand about cf and some boys understand. so take you time about boys and tell them that you cf and tell them what cf is that what i did i had to trouble with boys

he already knows that I have cf. I am pretty sure that he knows what it is. My middle school that I went to made a video of me telling them what cf is and everything. and they showed it to the whole school.

All I can say is don't drive yourself crazy by thinking constantly that maybe guys won't like you or go out with you cos you have cf because it's not fair on yourself if he does think that he doesn't deserve you but the thing is he hust might value your friendship and doesn't want to jepordise it, there will be loads of guys that will like you so much they won't care what you have as long as they can be with you etc. so don't worry darlin' plenty more fish and all that malark!!! <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">xxx<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

It's the group Aminoglycoside, that cause hearing loss most commonly. It includes Tobi, amikacin, gentamicin, etc. 'Aminoglycosides are useful primarily in infections involving aerobic, Gram-negative bacteria, such as Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, and Enterobacter' blah blah blah. Anyway if the guy doesn't take the time to speak to you and make the effort at least find some way to communicate with you instead of getting frustrated then he's definitely not worth it. Somebody that really cares for you will take the time and the effort.
