This is what a friend of Bree wrote on her facebook... On the second of May..
Unfortunately this update is not a happy one. Bree remains in the ICU Step Down unit. The doctors still do not know what has caused Bree's body to attack itself. They have performed a treatment (which is too complicated to explain) that they hope will bring results. It will likely be at least 2 weeks before they see any signs of change. Bree is no longer able to eat and is being nourished through an NG tube. She is bed ridden and, for the most part, non responsive. They believe she can hear everything we say but she is unable to communicate. You can tell when she gets distressed, but otherwise there is no emotion.
At this time, Bree's family has requested that people refrain from visiting. As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for Bree and her family and I know we all want to respect their wishes.
I understand some people have been asking for Bree's home address. Please feel free to message me and I can pass it along.

Thanks guys! I knew the support would help..it still just sucks though. she is a wonderful girl and I pray for an easy passing and that she is in no pain.
Funny story...Bree would have laughed at me (well when I burst into tears reading the update) but also I sneezed into my sleeve today in the teachers room no less, and it stained my shirt green!! Haha she was probably cracking up at me...

I will never forget the day when Tiffany and I verbally acknowledged that she most likely would not get out of the hospital this time or the day when we took her off life support. It is these times of overwhelmingness that made me thankful for the life we lived together and the life that I can remember with joy. What a blessing to have such great memories of Bree and the friendship that was developed. It is these relationships that help us so much through our most difficult days no matter what side you find yourself. And yes Caitlin, she probably would be laughing right along with you!

I am heartbroken. I have not been in touch with Bree for quite a few months, and to read this news is just devastating. I can't even wrap my mind around how unfair this is.
