Bronchitol and Denufosol

Did I understand this correctly - Denufosol wasn't working and they had to reconfigure, but Bronchitol is still in the running? Anyone have any idea if they will be any more beneficial than HTS? Do you think either drug has the potential to have a great impact?
Thanks,

I am not sure what you meant by reconfigure... but when it failed to meet trial expectations, it was scrapped. The company is moving on with it's other interests (primarily ophthalmology- based medications.)

Re. Bronchitol~ very positive data was released last summer re. their second Phase III trials and it was to be discussed at the CF conference this past fall. I'd ask your son's drs about it... hopefully this medication will work out and make it through the final FDA approval process.

Like all treatments in CF, I don't know if it will be 'more' effective than HTS... everyone is different and some respond to one thing better than someone else would; and in some cases an entire regimen of treatments are necessary for best results depending on disease progression. I will just be so happy to see another option available... the more the better to give all with this disease the most tools to fight progression and add to quality of life. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
