Bronchitol

The Bronchitol study appears to have gone well. What happens now? I am new to the process and just trying to understand.
It looks like the company has applied to market the drug in europe, but I'm not sure what that means for availability in the US.
Here is a link to the company media release.

As far as the process towards working towards availability in the US: there are ongoing Phase III trials going on right now that are still recruiting members across the country; if you research under 'Mannitol' you'll find out more. Here is one: Long Term Administration of Inhaled Mannitol in Cystic Fibrosis If you are interested in getting in on the potential benefits... it's recruiting participants age 6 and up (do not know how old your child is), and as was the case in the European study, whether or not you get placebo during the first half, everyone will get the actual drug for the 2nd half of the trial.

A drug still in phase III trials that proves effective & safe can still take several years to gain fda approval and be available to everyone. The best way to move this process along is for as many people as possible to participate in clinical trials.
