Hello,
Has anyone here heard about the new drug/treatment called "Bronchitol" that is in clinical trials and is supposed to help clear the lungs of people with CF? From what I've read so far, there are trials of this going on in Australia, UK and possibly Canada but I cannot find much of anything being done in the US and there is no mention of it on the CFF website. It sounds promising to me but there is not much that I can find on it. Here is the link to the description being put out by the company manufacturing it, Pharmaxis (Australia):

I'm not sure if that link is working so I'll copy and paste the text for the link here as well:

</a>
It is also being used for treatment of other lung conditions such as Bronchiectasis, which is common in older CF patients. My son is 30 now and is at the point that he could use something other than Pulmozyme and TOBI to slow down the damage to his lungs.
Fortunately, he has been free of pneumonia and lung infections for several years but seems to lose a little lung function each year.
Thanks so much for your help.
