Bronchoscopy?

My 7 month old is currently undergoing his first hospitalization. Neither his viral nor bacterial cultures have grown anything to tell us why he is sick. If nothing is present by tomorrow, he may need a bronchoscopy. Can anyone share their experience with having an infant go through this procedure?

My daughter had her first bronchoscopy when she was a year old. I know its freaking you out and feels impossible to put your baby under anesthesia, but a bronchoscopy is very simply, especially since they are just going to go in, do a lavage (wash) to get a good culture.

The worst part was handing her off to the nurse before the surgery and waiting. She was pretty irritable for about an hour after she woke up, but once they let us go home, she was back to her normal self.

It really was easy by comparison to so much else you could have to go through. Its definitely going to be harder on you than your sweetie.
