Hi Jada,

Thanks for the advice! I always brush my teeth right after my meds... actually both in the morning and evening... nice.

On a side note, dental health is just one of those thorns in my side. I have awful teeth for someone with good hygiene! I really think it's just related to the amount I cough and spit up and stomach acid and all that... lovely... but I guess grinding my meds into my teeth isn't helping either!

Interesting. I always brush my teeth right after inhaled abx (so twice a day every other month). I can't stand the after taste of it!

I think the reason you are supposed to rinse with water and spit after inhaled meds is to prevent getting those white sores/spots (cant remember what they are called) in your mouth. Avery has gotten these once and her friend with CF has gotten them a couple of times.

Not related to CF but...My dentist told me the same thing about sodas. I have bad reflux and the acid in sodas doesn't help. He said you should wait about 30 minutes after drinking soda to brush teeth because otherwise you are grinding the acid into your teeth. So maybe meds are the same way????

I told Jada I heard of this when she told me what the dentist said. Although I had just heard of the soda thing last year (2008).

Who would have thought.....
