Well, before the transplant, I had this problem too. I would eat breakfast in the morning and then an hour or two later, I was down in the 30's. Other than eating something to get them to come back up and eatin snacks all throughout the day, I don't know what to tell you.

There is some sort of injection that they would give me in the hospital that would make my numbers come back up but I don't remember what it's call and if you can do it at home or not like someone with high sugars can do insulin. I would just ask the docs. They should have a better idea.

I do not have CF, but I do suffer from hypoglycemia. It has taken me years to get it under control. Actually, I remember being in grade school and feeling like I was going to pass out and my teachers sitting me against the wall with my head down!

As I got older, it seemed to get much worst. I am sure it was b/c of the way I was eating. It actually got so bad that I would pass out. One time I was at work (at a video store-before Blockbusters) by myself. I had customers with me and I felt very dizzy and clammy. I told my customers I would be right back and for some reason headed to the restroom. When I woke up I had blood running down my face and customers standing above me! I had passed out and my head hit the water fountain. I was about 22 years old then.

Eventually, (like 10 years later) I was sent to a diabetic specialist, who told me to stay away from simple carbs. I didn't think it would make a difference, and it actually took me about a year to try it. BUT, it made a world of difference. My normal moring headaches disappeared. My afternoon sluggishness went away. And no more passing out spells. And instead of grabbing a 'sugary' snack when I feel shaky, I eat a peice of cheese or drink a glass of milk. (I actually had to do this just last night b/c I felt my sugar levels dropping).

I hope you get it under control. It sure does feel awful to have your levels so low<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
