I am not a tween parent,/ or have children,- but to give you some advice, she could go to cfvoice.com , they have games, and maybe chat rooms,- i am not sure,- but she could find good information and esp. how to keep up with treatments and good videos of interviews with kids,- that I am sure she could relate to.
I agree with you and not giving full access to 'everything', she needs in this point in her life to stick and learn her treatments, exercise and be a kid!
If shes see something scary, it may turn her of, or sometimes, its actually a good thing- to see certain things, as it can do the opposite-, it MOTIVATES her !
When I was 12, I looked up a medical encyclopedia, and an article on CF,- at that time, I really didn't know what it was, but when I saw the projected life expectancy ( 30 ) at the time, it numbed me, so I thought I better stick to everything or else....hence the opposite effect.....!
Point is every kid is different and gonna take the truth of CF in a different way....
Also, kids are sneaky, -watch your computer,- I know, I was, hehe !
