Like I said in a recent post, my husband has an increased cough and has coughed up more mucus than seems normal.

Well sometime during his night at work, he texted me saying he thinks he is sick because he was getting cold at work (which is rare for him) and his muscles are very sore. He then let his manager know at work that he wouldn't be going back to work tonight. When he got home, his whole body felt extremely warm and I am concerned.

He called and made an appointment with the clinic for this Friday so I am glad he did that, I am just nervous at what the end result will be.

I am came here in hopes that maybe someone has had these symptoms or knows someone that has and could maybe explain what it may be.

His symptoms have been: increased cough, more mucus production, body is warm (possible fever), body is so sore he can't move

I don't what do for him until Friday but I am letting him rest. He has slept almost 12 hours so far. Any other advice on what I can do other than be there?

Chills and muscle aches are very common with a fever (it would be good idea for him to take his temperature so you know if this is a mild fever or if he's spiking something really high.) He could have a run of the mill bug presenting with a fever & congestion that may improve with increased treatments and rest, or the fever could be a sign that one of the bugs he cultures is acting up and he needs abx. It's hard to know so early on in an illness. Has he been doing extra treatments since the onset of increased cough & congestion?

As soon as Emily shows signs of any increased cough/congestion we increase treatments and after a few days of significant illness if we don't see improvement we get the input of her cf team, so it's good he's seeing someone Friday.

I hope he feels better soon. <img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">

Thanks so much for your input hmw. I will see if I can pick up a thermometer tonight. How often should I get him to check his temperature?

I am hoping that it is just a simple small bug or something and not something he is culturing that is bothering him. I pray everything goes smooth on Friday.
