Can Enzymes stop working?

I seem to recall a few years ago a couple people as well either getting an odd batch of enzymes -- they opened up the capsules and the beads looked discolored, misshapen. There were also a few cases in which people were prescribed generics and had issues, though I'm not so sure generics are available anymore with the latest FDA requirements.
IMO, get in to see the doctor to either get your enzymes changed, increased and add a laxative.
DS had issues in which he had adhesions, which were causing digestion to slow down and causing the enzymes not to get where they were supposed to. So you don't want to mess around with this and possibly deal with obstruction issues. Also, When he was a baby he had constipation issues and we'd have to use milk of mag to get him cleaned out.

A bad batch of enzymes sounds kinda scary. never would thought that would be possible, but thanks for the awareness. I was once in hospital for a similar thing, I had really bad tummy cramps and was urinating blood, ultrasounds couldn't find anything so they assumed I passed a kidney stone. And x-ray came back to say I was 'backed up' - stayed in hospital for a week on laxatives, then when I was going home they told me to change my diet, eat more fiber, drink more fluids, reduce the enzyme intake. And have been fine ever since, some times I do get a little backed up again but nothing that bad like before.
