I have the choice one (I think) because mine does come apart. And I have boiled mine, just like my nebs. Take it apart boil it (I boiled it with my nebs since I use bottled water) and set it on a clean towel to dry. Worked out perfectly.

Like others said, maybe try boiling it and if it's ruined your no worse off. Maybe call the RT at the hosp and see if they can get you one, quickly.

And maybe you should close the toilet lid! Don't worry, I still drop everything in there, tweezers, etc. I never learn!!! I make my husband fish everything out.

Emily has a green acapella that comes apart into 4 pieces and I clean hers in a steam sterilizer (the kind for bottles... goes to 212*) and it seems to do fine in that. Not quite the same as boiling, I know, but it has been in that repeatedly and done ok. Just thought I'd add that.

I don't blame you, I'd want to boil it too! If you aren't sure you can risk it, washing in hot soapy water and then soaking in bleach/water and then re-washing would be good, I'd think... I know the bleach isn't supposed to be used repeatedly on the plastic, but in a case like this, I'd do it for sure. It's repeated use of bleach that is a problem for the plastic.
