Canada Relocation

Hi all,
I hope everyone is doing satisfactory, considering.

My family an i have decided we want to relocate to Canada.
Our daughter has CF, is 5 years old and doing really well.

I was hoping i could have some help and advice, advice on what kind of care our daughter would receive, how we would receive the care and help on relocating. I have applied for a few jobs as this is the best way to get a visa but it takes time and most jobs are advertised because they need someone asap.

I am interseted in business ventures or employment.

I am a National Distribution Manager / Transport Manager by trade.
We are not fussy what part of Canada but would apreciate any help you can offer and any advice would be welcome.

Without a doubt, Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children until the age of 18 and St. Michaels Hospital for adult care, have to be the best for cf care anywhere. Sick Kids is where the cf gene was first discovered by Dr. Lap-Chee Tsui in 1989.

My son was diagnosed when he was just 3 months old at Sick Kids and had the best care until he was 18 and had to transfer to the adult cf clinic also in Toronto.

The care and attention that he had over the years from both of these hospitals was just the best I could have wished for. No matter how small the problem was there was always someone there available for us and when he was sick, we never had to wait for an appointment, we could always go that same day if needed. Sometimes he even went to the clinic without even calling and although he might have had to wait awhile, there was always someone that would see him.

As far as prescriptions and equipment, most of this was covered and if it wasn't then my insurance from my place of employment kicked in. Even before I had any insurance through work, I honestly can't remember having to pay for anything, it was all covered. Times have changed though, so this is something that may have changed over the years, I'm just explaining how it was for us.

We emigrated from the UK before my son was born and as far as I'm concerned it was the best move that we ever made and have never regretted it for one moment.

I'm not exactly sure but I think once you get your landed emigrant status you still have the 3 month wait for Ontario Health Insurance (OHIP), again this is something you would have to check out first.
